The Anton Proksch Institute is operated as a special hospital for addicts. A board of trustees and a presiding committee made up of members of the foundation serve as the supreme governing bodies.

The Anton Proksch Institute’s activities encompass the following areas:

Clinical Centre: treatment of alcohol, medication, drug and other addictions
Academy: comprehensive advanced education and training programme for all addiction-related issues.
Research: basic and supporting research in cooperation with other research institutes.
