Research

The research activities of the Anton Proksch Institute are steered by a coordinating working party led by Öffnet einen internen Link im aktuellen FensterPrim. Univ. Prof. Dr. Michael Musalek and Öffnet einen internen Link im aktuellen FensterDSA Gabriele Gottwald-Nathaniel, MAS and coordinated by Dr. Senta Feselmayer.

Research activities are divided into three areas with a strong focus on interdisciplinary cooperation:

  • Clinical medicine: Coordinated by OA Dr. Ali Zoghlami
  • Epidemology/Social science: Coordinated by Dr. Alfred Uhl
  • Psychology: Coordinated by Dr. Wolfgang Beiglböck

In addition to self-financed projects, projects in cooperation with other institutes also play a major role. Project partners include the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Addiction Research, the European Commission, the Federal Ministry for Health, Family and Youth, the Federal Ministry for Education and Cultural Affairs and the City of Vienna.

Furthermore, together with staff from the Medical University of Vienna, the Faculty for Psychology and the Vocational College for Health Management and Health Promotion in Pinkafeld, staff from the Anton Proksch Institute serve as external supervisors for diploma and doctoral theses.
